As I sit in a corner I start to sink into a wall, my head slowly bumps onto the hard surface below. For a second i snap back into reality, then i realise where I am. Just as I turn my head to get my bearings of the surroundings, I appear in a jungle. I struggle to get to my feet. The tree branches begin to move, they threaten to hit me, as I try to counter the strike my arm snaps back, reminding me that my arms are restrained, I double back over and hit my head off the softly padded wall behind. Confusion has a hold of me i cannot discern what is reality and what isn’t, where am I, how did I get here, I am lost. The floor feels like a giant spiderweb and i’m getting stuck in. A ball of light from above blinds me, dazzles me. A clanging of keys tantalize my senses, throws me off-balance. water seamlessly trickles down my esophagus, food that feels like cardboard is being force-fed to me. The light vanishes and a gas slowly fills the room, my eyes grow heavy and my movements slow down. The room gets dark and my body turns lifeless.
Five years has passed since the four squires began their training. A huge army of thieves, thugs, brigand, warlocks and witches swept the main land conquering each kingdom that they past. The army was controlled by a powerful man by the name of Edward Tremors. Edward grew up as a slave, a slave that kept the knowledge of him being a warzard to himself. He grew up with vengeance towards all the people around him. He trained in secret and when he was strong enough he escaped into the wilderness.
Deep inside the forests that he called home he learnt how to fight against savage animals. He became one with nature and enriched his magical essence. Once again he got captured and enslaved but that time it was by a group of witches and warlocks. They trained him in the darkest arts of magic so much so that they thought they lost him to the darkness. He became resurrected a force unto himself. The group of magic users could no longer contain him and accepted him as their new ruler.
Edward heard of more people who were like him. The first one he found was a woman called Valerie Calm who was strong, dangerous, powerful and full of wisdom. The pair connected in an instant. Upon their union a third generation warzard was born, a girl by the name of Diane Tremors.
Edward still had a deep hate for the ones that enslaved him. He gathered all his followers and raided a nearby slavers camp. The killing triggered a blood thirst within him and transformed his soul into a monster. The people that he did not kill surrendered and followed him.
While Bahra trained with Sir Peter and Dane trained with Hayden, Renato was left alone, but knowing that everyone was training to better themselves, he thought that he should do the same. The art of magic is hard to learn alone, Renato went to the king to seek out a suitable trainer. Being a warzard, the amount of people who possess the ability to train him was very few.
The king of Dy’syst was a very kind man and a lot of people liked and respected him. He was very good friends with the arch-mage of the magical order, he asked the Arch-mage if he could send one of his most trusted and talented students to train his Warzard squire.
They looked at each other intently as they circled one another. Hayden flew towards Dane with a flying fist, but only ended up on the floor because of Dane’s temporary strength that came with his red skin. The down side to Dane’s red skin was that he became slow and Hayden knew to take advantage of that fact. He swooped down and picked up Dane with his claw, then threw him toward the ground. Dane’s skin started to turn black and his reaction speed greatly increased. When he hit the ground his black skin shattered to reveal its true colour of navy blue.
Hayden could see that Dane was getting to grasp with his powers, so he decided to fight properly. He flew high up into the sky, hid in front of the sun and pulled out his bow and arrows. A non-stop stream of arrows pelted the ground below. In his blue form Dane he dodged the arrows with ease to the point of mockery towards Hayden. Hayden shoot a few arrows upwards them made a dive for Dane. Dane rolled out of Hayden’s way only to end up getting pinned down by an arrow.
Dane walked out of the huge ditch that he created; he whispered to himself “What just happened to me?” in his confused state he ran back to the squire’s quarters pushing all of the trees that stood in his way out of the ground. When he got to the squire’s quarters he shouted “HAYDEN!!!”
Hayden jumped out of one of the upstairs windows. Big bright golden wings shot from his back and he descended to the ground slowly. “Dane” Hayden said in an annoyed voice, “What do you want?”
Dane gave him a blank look and said “I wanted to ask you if you wanted to do a little training with me?”
“Okay, what did you have in mind?”
“Let’s have a fight.”
“Lead the way.” Hayden gestured with his left arm.
Dane took Hayden into a deep part of the forest, somewhere, where there was a huge clearing. “This is where we will fight.” Dane announced.
His limbs broke out into big red patches of bruises, his legs gave way underneath him so he was laying on his back. Sir Peter stood over him and said “That’s enough for t’day come back t’morrow and we will work on strength, speed and accuracy training.”
After lying on the floor for a while he managed to pull himself up to a slow crawl. The princesses picked him up the rest of the way and helped him to his room on the top floor in the squire’s quarters.
Dane sat in a corner in the living area meditating, his skin flashed from a deep black colour then back to normal then back to the deep black colour. Suddenly his eyes opened wide and he ran out towards the field. With his black skin he ran up a tree with ease. He swung through the trees effortlessly, a flash of bright light blinded him in mid-swing and his body started to change colour. A dark red at first, then it change to a bright red. When his hand reached the next branch it snapped in two and he fell to the ground only to create a huge crater.
Sir Peter walked up and down the training room rubbing his chin with his hand. “Okay Bahra, I’ll tell you what we are going t’ do.” He said in a sure voice, “we will do condition training. Princess Teila will you call your sisters to come join us?” Teila ran out the room and came back a few moments later with her sisters.
“Girls” Sir Peter began, “I want each of you t’ pick up a practice sword from the floor and attack Bahra on one of his limbs. So each of you, will have a limb to attack.”
Bahra’s face turned red with worry, “why…w…w…whhhhhhhhhhhhy is this necessary?”
“Like I said earlier. Condition training.” Sir Peter said with a straight face. Bahra stood like he was riding a horse with his arms outstretched, the Princesses on the other-hand held practice swords in there hands like a baseball bat read to be swung.
The Princesses beat up Bahra until his arms and leg shook uncontrollably. The word STOP was held back by Bahra because he knew that he needed to get other his pain threshold, to become the hero that he is destined to be.
Sir Peter hung long thick ropes on the ceiling and wrapped weighted bandages around Bahra’s arms. “First thing I want you t’do” Sir Peter said in a soft voice “is t’ stand on your left foot with both of your hand and your right foot tied behind your back, but I want you to stand on the top of this ladder.” Bahra’s mouth dropped and his eye opened wide as he looked the ladder up and down “Wah… how am I! Going to do that?” Sir Peter looked at him, smiled and said “I’ll be back in half an hour.”
Princess Teila tied Bahra’s limbs together when he got to the top of the ladder. Bahra managed a good five minutes before he tipped and fell to his left. He pried he hand free to stop him from damaging himself. He picked himself up and tried, tried and tried again until he could stand on the ladder for thirty minutes.
Sir Peter watched in secret as Bahra trained with Princess Teila. The smile on his began to broaden as Bahra started to get the hand of balancing. He entered the room once Bahra had mastered balancing on a ladder. “Very good, young prince.” He said with a clap of his hands “Now it’s time for the next part of your training.”
Weeks had passed since Bahra fought with sir peter, his leg had now fully healed and he was about to start his sword training. The excitement was too much for him to handle. Princess Teila was waiting for him at the castle grounds at the start of his training. Bahra walked in with his two swords on his back and the sword from Sir Peter at his waist. Sir Peter was sitting on a chair in the training room when Bahra walked in Princess Teila.
Sir Peter stood up “So prince Bahra, today I’m going to take you through some training. The first thing that you need to know is that you do not need your swords.”
Prince Bahra gave his swords to Princess Teila. “So todays’ training is all about balance.” Sir Peter said.
In a weak voice Bahra asked “what are you?”
Renato face turned white, but in the back of his mind he knew that this was going to come. He took a deep breath a said “I am what people call a Warzard. A race of people that was born out of magic.” Renato paused and took another deep breath. “This is all I know Baraine, but I will find the answers.” Bahra nodded his head and fell back asleep.
Renato walked back down the narrow stone stair case and back into the squire’s common room. Where he saw Hayden resting on one of the wooden chairs in the middle of the room with his head pointed towards the ceiling. “Hayden what are you doing?”
“Ah Renato just the guy I wanted to talk to, you know the problem that I had in the past?”
“Well its kind-of came back, and I was wondering if you could help me?”
“Well I was the one who helped you last time so it would be no problem.”
“Don’t worry about it Hayden, but I have something to ask you.”
“What is that?”
“You know how you are good friends with Princess Sar, I just wondered if you could try to put a good word in for me with Princess Maylyn. She is so beautiful and a wish she would talk to me even just for minute.”
“I’ll see what I can do but I’m not promising anything?”
A huge smile spread across Renato’s face, his voice stumbled out mouth as he tried to say “when do you want me to help you with your problem then.”
Hayden only put his hand in the air and shook his head. That was all that was needed to be done because Renato knew what he meant.
