The birth of a Hero part 21

Dane walked out of the huge ditch that he created; he whispered to himself “What just happened to me?” in his confused state he ran back to the squire’s quarters pushing all of the trees that stood in his way out of the ground. When he got to the squire’s quarters he shouted “HAYDEN!!!”

Hayden jumped out of one of the upstairs windows. Big bright golden wings shot from his back and he descended to the ground slowly. “Dane” Hayden said in an annoyed voice, “What do you want?”

Dane gave him a blank look and said “I wanted to ask you if you wanted to do a little training with me?”

“Okay, what did you have in mind?”

“Let’s have a fight.”

“Lead the way.” Hayden gestured with his left arm.

Dane took Hayden into a deep part of the forest, somewhere, where there was a huge clearing. “This is where we will fight.” Dane announced.

His limbs broke out into big red patches of bruises, his legs gave way underneath him so he was laying on his back. Sir Peter stood over him and said “That’s enough for t’day come back t’morrow and we will work on strength, speed and accuracy training.”

After lying on the floor for a while he managed to pull himself up to a slow crawl. The princesses picked him up the rest of the way and helped him to his room on the top floor in the squire’s quarters.

Dane sat in a corner in the living area meditating, his skin flashed from a deep black colour then back to normal then back to the deep black colour. Suddenly his eyes opened wide and he ran out towards the field. With his  black skin he ran up a tree with ease. He swung through the trees effortlessly, a flash of bright light blinded him in mid-swing and his body started to change colour. A dark red at first, then it change to a bright red. When his hand reached the next branch it snapped in two and he fell to the ground only to create a huge crater.
